Another Day in Paradise

We’re still in Frankfort,Michigan at the Municipal Marina with our friends (Confetti)in the slip beside us. The winds are still kicking.
Frankfort is definitely not a bad town to be stuck in. There’s a really good hardware store in easy walking distance. Chuck and Feather and I started the morning getting parts for Chuck to fix the vent hose on our freshwater holding tank. When we got back from that little trip, I made lunch and we did a few chores. The captain made me swab the deck. Turns out both Feather hair and Sheila hair are incompatible with bilge pumps.
I walked to to the Family Fare grocery store pulling my little gorilla roll-y cart behind me. It’s actually a really nice grocery store. I was able to get absolutely everything I needed and more. Chuck says too much more, but I haven’t heard him complain about my cooking on this trip. ( Actually Chuck rarely complains about my cooking. I’m both cook and chemist, so he’s probably safer that way. I have access to lots of poisons.)
I took Feather for an afternoon walk while Chuck took a nap in the cabin, and then… And then… Chuck and I had pretty much our first social interaction with friends in over a year. Frank and Sharon B., friends from our kayaking circle, live nearby and they came to Frankfurt to have dinner with us. It was such a blessed taste of normalcy. They came, we sat in the cockpit of the boat in the harbor and had a beer and caught up. While we were there we got to watch and float plane land and then take off in Betsie Bay.
Then we walked into town to Stormcloud Brewery and had a really fabulous dinner. We chose Stormcloud because they have an outdoor patio where dogs are allowed. I would totally choose them again based on the quality of the food and the beer. This was the first time in almost a year that I had two beers in a day.
One more Feather-walk, and it was bedtime.
Btw, Feather’s tail is improving. It seems maybe it was just over worked or strained. It’s not 100% but she’s clearly holding it up more, and still not complaining at all, sweet girl.
I hear there's a great bakery in Frankfort.
