Beaver Island

One of the places Tim and crew recommended to us was the Dalwhinnie bakery and deli. So while confetti was leaving Port and headed for Mackinac Chuck and I walked to the bakery for a French toast breakfast. While we were there, we met a man who lived on the island and his dog ginger. After a very interesting conversation, I mentioned my interest in the Stone Circle. And he offered to take us to one of the stone sites.

Beaver Island Stone Circle.

The circle marks true N,S,E and W, and also predicts solstice etc.  The sophistication required to build something like this is amazing.  It is such a shame that Europeans considered natives uncivilized.  All the wheels we had to reinvent because we assumed we were superior.
