Too much of a good thing.
Saturday, June 5
So we went from not enough wind for sails to too much wind to handle. We headed for port in Frankfort where we met up with friends.. which was nice because we are stuck here.
Not a totally horrible thing. I took Feather to the Farmer’s Market. She did really well. This is asparagus country and its just come into season so, of course, we got that and some fresh radishes, bok choy, arugula, and fresh bread (along with some cookies.) This was a lot of stimulation for Feather, so she pretty much melted for 5 hours after that. Then she moved down to the cabin and melted somewhere else while Chuck was plotting our course. Neither seemed too effected by the fact that, in the harbor, tied to the dock, we were heeling as much as 10°.
Dinner was Fiesta Lime chicken, fresh steamed asparagus and cheesy scalloped potatoes, with a slice of fresh bread. I haven’t said much about my cooking system. The boat came with a two burner alcohol stove, a Magma Grill, and a microwave (only usable with shore power). It also has a fridge/freezer (an old ice box converted to power.) Then Chuck got me this fabulous stainless steel Magma Pot set after I saw Lori’s. It has 5 different size pots with two lids (that fit multiple pots) and it all nests so that it doesn’t take a up too much space. Everything I’ve cooked in it so far has worked. I even made the scalloped potatoes in it since I don’t have an oven.

After dinner, we walked down to the beach to see the waves crash a over the break wall. The surfers and kiteboarders, sup-surfers were out in force, but they were getting pretty exhausted by the time we got to the beach.
