We broke the dog.
By contrast, these pics are from the day before with her normal stance.
We’re not aware of a “moment” when she hurt herself, and even now, she hasn’t let out so much as a whimper, but she’d rather us not touch it. She was never alone all day. There is no external sign of injury.
We consulted the ancient wisdom of the interwebs (and Chuck’s sister Leslie) and she may have a fracture, or it may be something called “happy tail” from wagging her tail too much (just a muscle strain)or from swimming. To be sure, she’s been using her tail more than normal, since she’s been very stimulated and since dogs use their tails for balance.
Unfortunately, we’re in a small town with no car on a weekend, so we’re taking a wait and see attitude. She’s not showing any signs of distress, and we’re babying her (more than normal).
