Northport,Michigan

Northport Municipal Marina (a DNR marina) is absolutely beautiful. There is a little city park just beside it to one side with a sandy beach and clear blue water. It got the Feather seal of approval.

Northport is clearly a city/town that supports art, with a beautiful mural in the marina, and a quirky little cottage/train station on the opposite side of the marina from the park.

Home for the night.

The thunderheads that were chasing us all day are still off in the distance, catching the light if the setting sun.

After my shower I was able to even catch as little bit of the show they put on in the dark night sky.  It’s not a very good video but if you have patience, right in the middle you can see some of what we saw.

By the way, I’m just none finally figuring out how to get my videos to show up on this blog so as time allows I’ll go back and edit the older posts to show the videos you couldn’t access.

On Wednesday, we woke to do a little real laundry in great facilities in the Harbor. While I waited for the spin cycle Feather got to enjoy the water and the grass.

We also learned more about the Wooden ship Perception docked in the harbor at our bow.  She’s a two masted Schooner Replica.  The crew provides opportunities for sailing to Gold Star teens, and will be racing in the Mackinaw race this year. https://michiganchallenge.org/category/our-journey/

I wrote a little of this blog with this as my office view. Feel free to be jealous.
